Performia — Full Reference
Performia is creative and embodied flourishing in the age of artificial intelligence. AI as teacher, accompanist, and collaborator across every form of human expression — music, movement, dance, voice, performance — for solo mastery and collective emergence.
What Performia is
Performia is the creative pillar of Wildvine.
It is the answer to a specific question: what becomes possible for human expression when every person has access to the kind of embodied, attentive, generative collaborator that was previously available only to those who could afford masters-level coaching and a room full of skilled players?
The answer is more than the sum of better music lessons. It is a new layer of human creative life.
What Performia does
Embodied teaching with computer vision. A camera and an AI that watches you the way a master teacher watches you. The angle of your wrist on the guitar. The line of your spine in a pose. The transition between two dance steps. The breath under a sustained note. Available wherever you are, with the patience that no human teacher could afford to give and the precision that previously required an expensive in-person coach.
Live collaborative performance. Real-time creative work across distance, with the AI handling the coordination overhead — timing, tempo, key, blend, latency — that always broke previous attempts at remote ensemble work. The result is not Zoom with instruments. It is the room reconstructed around the work.
The adaptive accompanist. An engine that follows the player rather than forcing the player onto a grid. The same engine calibrates difficulty in real time when used as a teacher: not too easy, not too hard, never frustrating, never boring. Teaching and accompaniment are the same problem, met in the same instrument.
Collective emergence. A room of people moving together, each motion-tracked, each contributing actual effort. The collective state becomes an instrument. When the room is genuinely committed, the system produces harmony as literal output — sound, light, generative visuals — that is both the reward and the feedback. A new art form, not a metaphor for one.
New expressive categories. What emerges at the intersection of vision-based coaching, live coordination, generative collaboration, and the human body is not better-versions of existing arts. New forms are starting to be possible.
The visible surface today
Two weekly shows already run. Tuesday: live composition on camera, with Performia as the accompanist. Wednesday: community jam open to musicians at every level, with Performia helping the room stay in time. Long-time collaborator Geoffrey Castle — the electric six-string violinist who has shared stages with members of YES, Heart, and Queen and who carried M. Butterfly on Broadway — joins regularly in duo and full-band configurations.
The shows are the working proof that Performia is being used at performer-level today, while the embodied teaching, collaborative, and emergence layers come online.
The Living Chart
The technical core for the music sub-case is the Living Chart — a real-time representation of musical performance that tracks pitch, tempo, onset, and score position simultaneously. The Living Chart lets the engine follow rather than lead in the music context. The motion-tracking, vision-based teaching, and collective-emergence layers are parallel cores for their respective forms. Performia runs locally on the performer's machine wherever possible.
Architecture
Performia is positioned to become a Proactiva OS tenant when productized — its own MTP, its own roles, its own workflows, its own Veria channel reporting learner improvement and creative output across the network. The underlying engine is the same one running Proactiva engagements and the Forge network; the tenant configuration is what makes Performia distinct.
How to join
- Watch the shows. Schedules and archives at performia.live/shows.
- Learn with Performia. Beta access opens to musicians, dancers, movement artists, and learners who can give substantive feedback during early access. Sign up at performia.live/beta.
- Collaborate. Performia is open to serious musicians, dancers, choreographers, teachers, and developers building new expressive forms. Make contact at performia.live/contact.
- Build a Performia room. A Forge with the collective-emergence layer installed is a specific kind of place. Inquiries from venues and Forge co-founders are welcome.
What Performia is not
- Not a generative-music product. The human leads; the engine follows.
- Not a transcription or notation tool, though it can produce both.
- Not a replacement for human teachers, musicians, or coaches. It is what lets one master teacher work effectively with many learners, and one human performer work effectively with collaborators across distance.
- Not a single instrument. Music, movement, voice, and collective bodily expression are all forms Performia is built around.
Relationship to Wildvine
Performia is one of three programs of Wildvine, operated by Proactiva LLC. The others are Wildvine Forges (the gathering places anchored by Veriden, veriden.com) and Proactiva (the civic output and revenue engine, proactiva.us). Veria (veria.us) verifies outcomes across the whole Wildvine system, including Performia learner improvements over time.
